The build up to Christmas can be stressful or exciting, I’ve weaved in and out of both these zones the past month. Stress has come through my ability to leave everything to the last minute and just make my 4pm deadlines. The excitement comes after these 4pm deadlines on the walk home as I know Greggs does not close until 5! So on the walk home I put on my headphones with a pasty in hand and see what I have in the recently added playlist. When you come through the other end of the assignment turmoil you find yourself way behind on everything music and let be honest most the stuff is half-assed done and not worth your time. Then something fantastic with an even more fantastic name comes along making you realise the cold pasty you have been given isn’t so bad. Greggs were not going to make a new batch of sausage and bean pasties just for me finishing my work on time, thus bring back the swagger in my step.
Like the persistent Tim Robbins in Shawshank, I put pen to paper and wrote polite words to Santa asking for the new Siriusmo album. You see I've been a good boy this year- keeping up with the little tid bits I promised like recycling old yoghurt pots. I may not conform to an acceptable use of grammar all the time but I didn't think Papa Christmas would be this pedantic. Why oh why didn't you answer my requests Santa? I'm pretty sure these crummy pair of socks are NOT going to make up for the lack of Siriusmo getting released so therefore I am taking this kind gesture of milk and cookies back for myself. Except I'll still leave some carrots out there for your poor overworked reindeers. In the mean time let's enjoy the latest Siriusmo remix, a five minute industry that wants to stick two fingers up at this bloody freeze fest. Not happy, Santa.
Remember when we were kids it was all about Dextor Laboratory, Hong Kong Fui and Inside-Out Boy? The cartoon heroes of some people's time, but now we are older we have moved onto Batman, JD and Turk from Scrubs and also Alisha from Misfits yumm.
Listen up you beautiful funkers, it's competition o' clock. Together with Topman CTRL we're looking to give away this free tshirt designed by our absolute man crush, Diplo. This month it's the turn of Wes Gully to face the CTRL project and control the reigns of their super cool Myspace blog- yes yes mega hyped- because this means two things. First of all next Tuesday the madhatter himself will be online to answer your questions and then on the 16th he's chosen the likes of Micachu & The Shapes, Benga, Primary 1 and Mumdance to play with him for the show at Fabric, LDN. Ooooh la la huh? Well before we get down to the nitty gritty here's a track for the new mixtape that Mad Decent are doing.
Hi Everyone! You've probably heard of Silas & Jonas aka Kenton Slash Demon, two cool guys from Denmark signed on Tartelet Records (which is also a dope label). Their track 'Khattabi' was playlisted on Brodinski's Bugged Out (btw the EP is available on Beatport). Their new "Sun" is a little bomb, going from Groovy- Disco notes to minimalistic touches. Everything is on Beatport guys.Labels: Kenton Slash Demon
